Simple Lentil Soup

Hello there chilly weather! I've been waiting for you...

There are soups, and then there are soups.
Some soups are a little bit complex. They require some special ingredient or must be cooked just so.
Not this one.
It's simple and comforting. Just like a rainy Fall day.

Ingredients:
2 cups of uncooked lentils
1/2 sliced onion
1 diced clove of garlic or garlic powder
8 cups of water
1 tsp olive oil

Directions
Place diced garlic, onion and oil in a large sauce pot on medium heat until onions are translucent
(If using garlic powder sprinkle it over the onions in the pot)
Then add water and lentils
Cook for about 30 minutes or until the lentils are soft and the soup has thickened.
Then season with salt and pepper to taste.

There. I told you it was easy.
